| Science is a big
part of Jennifer’s life. But it wasn't always that way.
Her high school teacher advised her against any higher-level
science courses. Like the pioneer women scientists, Jennifer
is completely self-taught in science. She began with the origin
of science–metaphysics and wrote an honor's thesis on
Spinoza without ever taking a class on the philosopher. She
was only the second woman at her college to receive honors
in philosophy. Her thesis proved emotion is not only integral
in rationalist philosophy, but without it our thinking is
not complete. This is the fundamental force behind Science
4 Girls!
After years of
working in advertising and learning to develop characters,
Jennifer decided to develop her own. Her 5th grade teacher
Mother often voiced her frustration to teach science standards
in public education. Jennifer knew that animation could
be the bridge and began studying chemistry and physics.
Jennifer is her own example of how science can transform
through understanding. Just check out her creation, Science
4 Girls!

Weigel creator
/ creative director |
| nick@science4girls.com |
| Nicholas
applies his unique comic sensibility and years of design experience
to a dynamic universe based on hard scientific principles
and pink, fuzzy slippers. Currently represented as a Director\Illustrator
for LAIKA |House.,
Nicholas tackles the snappy world of Advertising content every
week. In order to do it successfully this award winning director
uses science every minute. "My ideas aren't particularly
scientific, but making them real definitely is. Without the
science behind the software and tools I use artistically, I may
as well be cave painting." Beyond his day job, Nick has 3 animated
series in various stages of development at Cartoon Network and MTV
- one in particular, Vanilla Pudding is a quirky tale of imaginary
friends, twisted illusions and girly empowerment.
His
considerable body of work spans games infested with aliens,
heroes and sea creatures who whack fish with paddles, numerous
commercials i.e. Frito Lay's beutiful Salsa ad spots, Coke's
Happiness Factory and numerous others for Orangina, Wonka, Ford,
Snapple, Nickelodeon and MTV. He's also launched a growing quiver
of creative content from toys to kids T-shirts developed under
his newest venture the Mr.Enjoyable
Enterprise, LLC!

| Every
Science 4 Girls! episode will lead back to the website and
kids can join the S4G! Secret Club by learning scientific
fundamentals. Carlos brings to our team his passion to create
fun and exciting activities that make kids love filling
their brains with knowledge. Now a Sonoma State University
assistant professor, he earned his Ph.D. from Stanford and
has spent the past two decades dedicated to the art of science
education at all levels.
Dr.
Ayala is particularly familiar with the needs of the audience
Science 4 Girls! hopes to reach. Working for the Calexico
Unified School District, he developed science lessons for
primary and intermediate grades. He spent nearly two years
as the principal of Dool Elementary School. For eight years,
Carlos taught junior high science and math. For three years
at San Diego State, he prepared future elementary school
teachers to teach the wonders of the scientific world. And,
most importantly, he has two daughters of his own. His middle
name, Cuauhtemoc, is the name of the last Aztec emperor
and means "descending eagle." And so it is that
Carlos, his vision of science education as sharp as an eagle's,
descends upon his biggest classroom yet, the countless young
minds who will attend Science 4 Girls! |

| Jason
Grode manager |
| jason@science4girls.com |
| The
man has taste when it comes to selecting people to represent
-- heard of Jodie Foster? -- which makes it no surprise that
he decided to add Science 4 Girls! to his stable. His other
clients are animators, writers and directors working for such
illustrious organizations as Dreamworks, Disney, Sony, Fox,
the Cartoon Network and Comedy Central. Jason worked as a
"Futurama" producer, earning an Emmy nomination
for the episode entitled "A Big Piece of Garbage,"
which was, naturally, not garbage of any kind. He earned another
Emmy nomination for developing the animated special "Olive,
The Other Reindeer," which featured the voice talent
of stars like Drew Barrymore, Ed Asner and Michael Stipe.
He also spent a couple of years as the managing editor of
"Simpsons" comics, and he produced "Simpsons"
television commercials for Intel and Butterfinger. Currently,
Jason’s negotiating prowess has landed him at the table
to unify the four fundamental forces into a huge Theory of
Everything. He has already signed electromagnetism, the strong
nuclear force and the weak interaction to lucrative long-term
deals, and it's only a matter of time before gravity gives
in to his consummate skill. |

| Petrina
Robins site
crafter |
| petrina@science4girls.com |
| Born
to a psychologist mother whose focus was creativity and a
father who was the manager of the training department at Xerox,
Petrina has always been interested in how people learn. As
a child, Petrina aspired to be a mad scientist, but abandoned
those plans because she didn't want to live in a remote castle
with a creepy sidekick named Igor. She went on to put herself
through school as a magician, costume creator and artist,
eventually running off to teach in Asia for five years, where
she amused herself riding hot air balloons and motorcycles
(but not at the same time, because there's no such thing as
a hot air motorcycle). When summoned home, Petrina continued
her studies in Instructional Technology at grad school, where
she honed her ability to transform dry information into fun,
enjoyable reading. Now, as our savvy technical courseware
developer and site designer, Petrina can finally indulge her
childhood dream of participating in science -- without the
madness -- through Science 4 Girls! |
